End of Days

Twin Terror - ready to 'rock' Genting Highlands...

One for the Road!

Amber, Zac, Ernest and Errr... (can't recall her name)

Stayed at Goh Tong Hall during X'Mas eve.

Reminds me of the movie where Arnie fights the fallen angel.
Well, not that dramatic but year end is always a good time to reflect of how good or bad things went.

I think the most dramatic is when my car got flooded.
Hmmm... maybe its a sign from above to change car ;-)

Glory Beach during Hari Raya

Nice brochure... that's all we know of before we step into the hotel.

Not too bad... since we all cram into this 3 bedroom apartment.
A view from the balcony... nice place for beach volleyball.

Zac having his first taste at the Beach. But Amber in her usual self... having fun!

Novelty of celebrating Pesta 'Tanglung' with the kids

The flower girl who didn't last long enough to walk on a sleepy afternoon

A rare family shot ... usually i'm MIA

The kids at JD's Birthday Party - but the boy was not feeling too well.

Picnic at Sunway...

4 Girls and 1 Boy .... we need more males...

Its Sunway Damansara... not Sunway Lagoon. But that does not seem to bother the kids at all as they are oblivious to the surrounding. We should do this more often...

Beijing Olympics

(Hmmm... i wonder how much these costs in Ebay?)

The start of the ultimate sporting event is here.... yes its the Olympics - in Beijing!
Sadly... i missed the opening ceremony... and subsequently fell ill too.

So far... our only hope is in badminton (hopefully squash will be introduced soon while Nicol is still numero uno. As of now LeeCW is in the semi-finals. If he's out, then maybe I will turn my attention to EPL .... since its this weekend. LOL!

Amber's 3rd Year party

Finally, we are back to celebrate Amber's birthday. We sort of skipped her 2nd year - due to lack of planning. This time, she decided to select her theme; Pooh and Friends... looking forward to it!

Inflation for 2008

My monthly traveling expenses will shoot up to RM600 from RM400. This is in tandem with the increase of RM1.00 per litre for diesel purchase.

I was trying to pump yesterday for the old price, RM1.58/L before the new price RM2.58/L but the queue (if there's one) is horrendous! Can't the govt increase it slowly every few months to cushion the effect of spiring oil prices. Yesterday, it was really chaotic... all over M'sia.
Makes me wonder, what did the PM Bodowi said before, "No price increase until Sept".

From Malaysia-Today:
'I am not angry about the increase in the price of petrol when Abdullah Ahmad Badawi could not avoid increasing it. I am angry that he was forced to increase it. Why was he forced to increase it? And what happened to the estimated RM2 trillion that Petronas has earned over 34 years since 1974? And why are the accounts not made public or tabled before Parliament? Was not Petronas set up through an Act of Parliament via the Petroleum Development Act 1974? Therefore, should not Parliament have the power and authority to demand that Petronas table its accounts before Parliament? Why are the accounts secret? And why should Petronas report to only one man?

Petronas should be turned into a pubic listed company. Petronas should be called Petroleum Malaysia Berhad or Petromas Bhd or PMB and it should be listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange and its accounts should be made public like all other public companies.'

Shame on the Govt!

Global Outreach Day

It was good to bring dad out - to get him outwardly focused.

This girl has a good sense of attachment to us, as she delighted to be with us.

It was a good time with the volunteers of HOPE Worldwide. We went out to help the Rumah Cacat Kanak-Kanak at Taman Megah, with lots of food, gifts, games and our open hearts. It was good for my heart to see the real world once again - children with real need.

April Fool

Huh. Thought of something to do for April Fool's Day... but changed my mind. Its just another day at work! Can't tell my students that class is cancelled else I risk getting fired from my GM. Or maybe not, since he would not know... but alas - need to be professional at work.

Financially its been straining - hopefully we can get by month end soon. Its been great to have our maid to help out in the house and iron our clothes. Definitely refreshing to see the bed and household stuff cleaned - and its not me!

1st Wedding Anniversary

WoW.... its been exactly 4 years since we have been married. And the wonderful thing about being married on a day that only exists every 4 years is everybody remembers - even though you might forget. Not that I don't remember, okay.

So far no plans yet - got interviews at HLB and HSBC. But good thing the kids are away at the moment so we can have some time together.

Ms. Windows

When your Windows gets dirty, what do you do? You clean them. Unfortunately, its Ms. Windows or some better known as Microsoft Windows. It boots up much slower these days and most of the files are scattered everywhere. So i think i'll make it a point to reformat my hard-disk and start all over again. Yes its painful and tedious, but its necessary.

Few things I learn is before I reinstall:
1] Get all your drivers ready.
2] Backup all the files you need safely onto the DVDs
3] Reinstall only on C: for applications
4] The rest of Data can be on D: (change My Documents to D:)
5] If needed next time, I can just reinstall the OS and Apps on C:

So i better start doing this - before I start work. Fingers X!

Mt.Kinabalu Revisited

Final Destination: The peak of SEA region.

Its sometime early of May 2005.
One brave soul (Steve) flew all the way from London, one daredevil (Dolly) from KL, 5 outdoor trekkers from Penang. The remaining 3 local boys joined in the fun to conquer Mt.Kinabalu... 4,095m.

Thank God we are now near 1,800m at the Timpohon Gate, so only left 2,295m to go... which is not too bad. However, I had to leave Kit at home who was pregnant with Amber for which I needed to make sure I get home not wrapped inside a bodybag.

Teik Wong, me and Chris Emin, taking a photo-break and enjoying the serene surrounding.

This is a shot half-way up the mountain, at Laban Rata which is 3,300 metres up. All of us look good and set to conquer the summit, after almost 6 wet hours from the Kinabalu Park HQ the previous day.

Unfortunately for Steve, Dolly, Chris and myself - we decided to take a 'short' break at the Sayat Sayat Hut. It was so comfortable that we decided to 'warm' our butts and eventually declined to move up any further. The rest made it to the summit except for Cindy who slept in the dorm.... Good for her!
